Ars-en-Ré

A village nestled at the bottom of the Fier, surrounded by salt marshes, Ars-en-Ré is a must when visiting the island.

The bell tower of its half-Gothic, half-Romanesque church was used as a sea wall for boats and has kept its characteristic black and white colours. Near the church, you will notice the House of the Seneschal with its turrets. Don't hesitate to stop at the "Café Du Commerce "in the harbour with its surprising decoration.

On the road to the Boire Beach, 3 mills still stand. Transformed into residential houses, they have unfortunately lost their wings.
